Pannectomy Done!

So, my surgery went well.  I had 10 pounds of skin removed.  Although I was upset about the lack of pain management while in the hospital.  I had an epideral which controlled my pain just fine, but they didn't have a standing order for pain meds after they removed the epideral.  I was only allowed Tylenol.  The epideral was removed around 10 AM and I was not given anything until right before I was discharged at 5:30 PM.  They could not get a hold of anyone in plastic surgery because they had been in surgery all day.  Note to surgeon if surgery is approved on my thighs: have a standing order for oxycodone!

Speaking of the thighs, that surgery is not an exclusion by my insurance company.  The surgeon actually submitted my paper work on 2/28.  I only know this because I was in for my two year post-WLS followup appointment and asked the assistant.  I have gained weight in the past six months, but in my defense I had two surgeries this past year.  Although, emotional eating doesn't help any.  OA didn't work for me, in the past, so once things calm down, I'll be looking into counseling (I believe AA/NA/OA can be helpful to keep some people away from their addictions but it doesn't address the real reason why they have a hard time staying away from their addictions or why they have their addictions).   The assistant offered to let me make an appointment with their dietician but I reminded her that we did not see eye to eye on nutrition.  Not that I am an expert, but when I explained to the assistant the things I was told by the dietician, she questioned it as well.  Anyway, she had me make an appointment to see her in three months, instead.  She noted that I lost six pounds since my last appointment with the plastic surgeon, so in all likelihood I am losing the water I retained from the surgery.  Wish me luck!

PS - the attached picture is backwards.  It's after my pannectomy, on the left, and before on the right.  Also, I have to figure out how to update my weight tickers on my blog via my tablet.  *sigh*
